Handwoven Bamboo Scarves

Our soft and silky scarves are hand-woven from luxurious and sustainable bamboo. Each scarf is individually hand-dyed in a variety of rich colors. Once dyed, the bamboo is hand woven into scarves using the Mayan backstrap loom by woman artisans in the highlands of Guatemala.

Each of these scarves measures 68” L x 8” W. Colors will vary slightly. The scarves lend themselves to easy care: Hand wash in cold water. Rinse using fabric softener. Allow to dry naturally.

SOFT GOODS

These beautiful purses are designed and created in a small village by a Guatemalan women's artisan collective. The material is made from traditional huipil fabric. The purses have a black lining and top zippered closure, along with a small zippered front compartment. They are perfect for holding your phone, and a few credit cards or cash.

Approximate measurements are listed below. However, as each purse is handcrafted, you can expect slight color variations and slight variations in size.

Shoulder Strap Drop (measurement of the strap from the top of the bag (at center) to the peak of the strap) is approximately 18 inches. Height (measurement from the opening of the purse to the bottom of the purse) is approximately 7 inches. Width (measurement of the purse from one side to the other is approximately 4 inches.

Under the Same Moon is the American fund-raising arm of Asociación Bendición de Dios - a nondenominational, nonprofit school and community development organization in San Juan Alotenango, Guatemala. Asociación Bendición de Dios educates 500 pre-K through grade 6 children at no cost to families.

Under the Same Moon is a U.S. registered 501(c)(3) organization. The Asociación Bendición de Dios is a Guatemalan-registered nonprofit governmental organization. The school, Bendición de Dios, educates about 500 children who otherwise would not be able to afford the $300 annual fees for the "public" school. The Asociación aims to raise community living standards so that children come to school healthy and well-rested.
