Your Thanksgiving Table — Under the Same Moon

Dear UTSM Community,

We’re excited! We’ve put together our first ever virtual event for our supporters and for those who’d like to learn more. Join us LIVE on Zoom for an interesting evening to learn more about our work in Guatemala. You’ll have a chance to listen to and ask questions of the school’s director, Julio, and others. In addition to one of Bendición's teachers, you'll meet one of our students and hear about his personal experiences at the school.

For many years, UTSM has raised funds for our school by selling beautiful beaded and woven goods. COVID prevents us from doing so this year, but the teachers and students need your support more than ever. With 90% of families out of work and scarce government resources, these students are struggling to find food. Can you help?

Under the Same Moon is the American fund-raising arm of Asociación Bendición de Dios - a nondenominational, nonprofit school and community development organization in San Juan Alotenango, Guatemala. Asociación Bendición de Dios educates 500 pre-K through grade 6 children at no cost to families.

Under the Same Moon is a U.S. registered 501(c)(3) organization. The Asociación Bendición de Dios is a Guatemalan-registered nonprofit governmental organization. The school, Bendición de Dios, educates about 500 children who otherwise would not be able to afford the $300 annual fees for the "public" school. The Asociación aims to raise community living standards so that children come to school healthy and well-rested.
